About Tavistock Tutoring

Hello, and welcome to Tavistock Tutoring. My name is Laura and I am Mum to three beautiful children living Tavistock as well as being a fully qualified primary school teacher. I have recent and relevant state school experience and still work as a supply teacher in the local area and beyond.

I hold a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature with Language and a PGCE with qualified teacher status. I have worked in OFSTED rated outstanding state primary schools in Plymouth and Devon and also have experience of working with pupils with additional needs. I hold a current DBS certificate.

All lessons take place in my home classroom which is a warm, welcoming and peaceful environment where we can focus on tasks undisturbed with all the equipment we need to hand. The classroom also has access to the garden allowing us to explore and learn in a less formal environment, this could include a treasure hunt following the cryptic clues to using chalks on the patio to play phonics hopscotch or completing a wildlife/plant survey.

I offer after school and weekend tutoring sessions for children attending school as well as discounted daytime sessions for home educated children.
